An absolute record of the price of white truffle has been set up at an auction in Italy. This delicacy mushroom of the weight of a little more than a kilogram was sold for 41 thousand dollars. The bidding was going on in the province of Piemonte where white truffles grow. For the first time buyers from Moscow participated in the auction, with the help of a teleconference bridge. There was total 15 mushrooms of giant size offered for sale, "Vesti" reports.

The main fight for the biggest of them happened between Max Giambelly, owner of an Italian restaurant in New York and a Russian who wished to stay incognito. As a result, the American won, and all the money earned was used for charity purposes.
